While we're mostly concerned with covering the latest in gadgets and technology, there's occasionally some humble creations that spend months building up enough stream to finally break into the public's consciousness, and we'd be remiss if we didn't take notice. One such piece of magic is the Robolamp series of, well, robot lamps that Robert Matysiak has been working on for the past two years, and looks to have recently gone all out with in the last few months. As you can see for yourself in the gallery below, those consist of everything from some fairly recognizable lamp-shaped devices to more elaborate "robots" that can apparently be repositioned and accessorized. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Matysiak is quite ready to part with them just yet, but he is looking for a place to exhibit the designs if there happens to be any adventuresome gallery owners out there. Engadget.

Since the Wiimote can track sources of infrared (IR) light, you can track pens that have an IR led in the tip. By pointing a wiimote at a projection screen or LCD display, you can create very low-cost interactive whiteboards or tablet displays. Since the Wiimote can track upto 4 points, up to 4 pens can be used. It also works great with rear-projected displays.

Need to do some heavy lifting of the physical kind, but only have some wimpy servo motors on hand? Why not follow Antonb's directions to Hack your Servo, and turn it into a powerful linear actuator. The instructions are a little tricky to follow, however the basic idea is to use the servo motor as a high-torque gearbox, which is then used to turn a screw to raise or lower your load. Using this method, he claims to be able to lift a 10kg load, which is pretty impressive!

Puedes descargarlas de forma gratuíta desde dafont, un sitio especializado en tipografías para ordenador, aunque creo que tendrás que apañártelas si quieres caracteres especiales como la Ñ porque no están disponibles …

Anuncio luminoso hecho de acrilico

Una buena opción en anuncios luminosos, a la DIY, por supuesto tenía que ser con LEDs, este y muchos otros artículos me hacen recordar que necesito de manera muy urgente un cortador laser. Freaking Lasers!

Por cierto tengo que conseguir unas cuantas de estas cintas de leds, para hacerme un bonito cinturón.
